PL 180 Intellectual Property Course with Steven Stern

Steven Stern, Esq., is a founding partner of Stern & Schurin LLP, and Bramson ORT College is proud to have him as a member of its faculty.  Mr. Stern possesses a wide range of knowledge and experience in the area of utility patents.  Mr. Stern is also an established expert in design patent law, and routinely counsels clients in the consumer retail and jewelry industries.

Mr. Stern teaches Intellectual Property (IP) law, a course designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Intellectual Property Law including:  Patents, Trademarks, and Copyrights. Emphasis will be placed on the preparation of documentation regarding the protection of thoughts, inventions, ideas, symbols, music, 3-D creations and literary works.  In addition to practical, hands-on instruction preparing and completing the forms required to secure protection for clients, students are provided with an overview of the protection afforded by these facets of the law.

Students will be trained to prepare and record assignments of rights, as well as prepare and file other routine documentations that are required to protect intellectual property rights.  Students will also become familiarized with the entire application process for patents, trademarks and copyrights, in addition to post-registration procedures for each.
