Things To Do In NYC For The Holidays

Bramson ORT College
69-30 Austin Street, Forest Hills, Queens NY
(718) 261-5800 / (718) 259-5300

Bramson ORT College is a technical college that is located in the Metropolitan New York area. With campuses in both Brooklyn and Queens, we offer several academic programs for students who wish to excel in a career such as an accountant, medical assistant or paralegal - but those are just a few of the opportunities we offer!

At Bramson ORT College, part of our mission stems from our desire to remain closely knit with the surrounding community. That being said, we encourage all of our students to take advantage of community events and offerings both in and out of an educational setting.

This month, we'd like to offer our students a few ways that they can indulge in New York City culture while celebrating the holidays with family and friends; see below:

1. Rockefeller Center: Christmas in New York City wouldn't be the same without the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. If you've yet to visit, the tree will be lit until 8:00 PM on January 7, 2015, so be sure to stop by!

2. Bryant Park: Ice skating at your home ice rink is one thing, but ice skating in Bryant Park is another! Admission for this event is free; your only cost is skate rentals, locks and bag checks.

3. Radio City Christmas Show: Would you like to see the rockettes live and up close? Check out the Radio City Christmas Show at Radio Music Hall!

4. The Nutcracker: If you've grown up with the nutcracker as one of your favorite holiday stories, check out the live version at Lincoln Center!

5. FAO Schwarz: A New York City icon, FAO Schwarz is a great place to visit around the holidays; even if it's just to look at the displays!

In addition to participating in your favorite holiday activities, will you be using the winter break to search for a new college to attend in the spring? Consider Bramson ORT College! We welcome transfer students to our programs all throughout the year and would love to see your name in the list of this year's applicants. For more information on how to apply, visit us on our website or contact us at (718) 261-5800 or (718) 259-5300 today!

Department Spotlight: Medical and Natural Sciences

Bramson ORT College
69-30 Austin Street, Forest Hills, Queens NY
(718) 261-5800 / (718) 259-5300
In a previous blog post, we focused on the specifics of our medical assistant associate degree program. Today, we’d like to offer you an overview of our entire medical and natural sciences department in order to broaden your knowledge of the opportunities we offer here at Bramson ORT College.

Under our medical and natural sciences department, students can obtain one of four destinations – pharmacy technician associate degree, medical assistant associate degree, medical office administration assistant concentration or professional billing and coding concentration. Regardless of the program pursued, all students will have access to the latest technology in our updated medical and computer labs and will be taught by some of the industry’s most experienced and skilled instructors. Furthermore, since certain job placements require prospects to have deeper qualifications than what are taught in the classroom, we offer review classes for National Certification and City-Wide professional exams so that students can excel in the work setting of their choice.

If you’re interested in a rewarding career in the medical field, we highly recommend applying for one of our three medical programs. For your convenience, required courses are taught at both our Queens and Brooklyn campuses and are open to all students who possess a high school diploma or GED. And the best part is, if you are currently without your GED but are interested in enrolling, we offer students the opportunity to earn their GED while they participate in our programs.

For more information on our medical and natural sciences department or the programs we offer within, please visit us on our website or contact us at (718) 261-5800 today!

Scholarship Opportunities For Bramson ORT College Students

As the cost of college continues to rise, it's likely that you're looking for supplemental financial aid opportunities to help you pay off your education. Whether it be through federal or state financial aid programs or by means of a scholarship, every bit counts when it comes to holding a remaining balance of $0.00 at the end of every semester.

At Bramson ORT College, we understand that it can be difficult for students to cover the cost of their college tuition. That's why we participate in several scholarship programs that our students can take advantage of! The following are two scholarships that we currently invite students to apply for:

Rock Hound Scholarship

The Rock Hound Scholarship is currently being offered to students that are enrolled in a science degree program. Sponsored by Moriarty's Gem Art, one student will receive a $500 paid scholarship towards their academic costs for the 2015 school year. To enter, please fill out this survey by 11:59 pm on December 25, 2014.

Best Price Nutrition Scholarship

Best Price Nutrition is currently offering one student a $1,000 paid scholarship towards their academic costs for the 2014 school year. To apply, please fill out this survey by 11:59 pm on December 31, 2014. This scholarship is currently being offered to any full-time college student or alumni.

For more information on either of these scholarships, please give us a call at (718) 261-5800 or (718) 259-5300. Best of luck to all Bramson ORT College applicants!
